“Sri Hussain Sha Kavi Puraskaaram” to President of the Telugu Association of Malaysia
Sathguru Dr.Umar Alisha has awarded “Sri Hussain Sha Kavi Puraskaaram” to President of the Telugu Association of Malaysia Dr.Achaiah Kumar Rao for his services to the protection of telugu culture, language and heritage and the welfare of the telugu people in Malaysia.
Dr.Umar Alisha, the Ninth head of the Peetham, during his recent visit to Malaysia has impressed to the services rendered by the association and selected its president to receive the puraskaram on behalf of the association.
Dr.Kumar Rao said the Malaysian Government had been extending all support to the Telugu association by providing financial assistance. He said the association had planned to construct Telugu Academy building and the Malaysian Government had extended its financial support and the foundation tone will be laid in February and it will be completed in eighteen months.
He said the telugu association was established in 1957 and it is now working with 30 branch’s a with a membership of 50,000. Convener of the Umar Alisha Rural Development Trust, Dr.Ananda Kumar Pingali said dr.Kumar Rao visited India particularly his native place in Anakapalli mandal. He said Sri Viswa Viznana Vidya Adhyatimika Peetham selected him this year for the puraskaram. He said Dr.Umar Alisha Sahiti Samithi had been presenting the award every year on January 23 to the great people who rendered meritorious services in any sector ;like education, social services,and spiritual activities and others.
