Practice Gnana Sadhana to unravel the mind’s potential power.
Dear Member Friends,
At the desk of Sri Viswa Viznana Vidya Adhyathmika Peetham, we wish you all a Happy New Year and a Happy Harvest Festival.
The human mind often experiences a mix of emotional sadness after an event or period and excitement for a new beginning. As the new year approaches, we tend to make numerous resolutions and anticipate its arrival with renewed enthusiasm, cheer, and energy. We celebrate this occasion by attending parties, meeting friends, and exchanging good wishes for the upcoming year—all while feeling a sense of freshness and excitement.
However, after the late-night festivities, when we woke up on the morning of January 2nd, life seemed to return to normal, and all conditions were as they usually were; our regular office routines, familiar faces, and daily tasks continued as before. So, why does our mind feel so excited during festive occasions and the new year? The condition does not depend on the circumstances, people, or situations; it’s all about how our mind perceives happiness and sadness.
The mind can lift us into a state of ecstasy or plunge us into an abyss of sorrow. When our mind is in a joyful state, every day feels like a new beginning, and each moment can be celebrated as a festive occasion.
How can we control our minds and maintain a balanced state?
A strong mind enables us to face any calamity with composure. We can cultivate such a mind through Gnana Sadhana, which involves reading philosophical and spiritual texts daily. The power of philosophical teachings, or AKSHARA, influences our subconscious. Over time, this practice strengthens the mind, helping us break free from the illusions of fear, desire (kama), anger (krodha), greed (lobha), pride (mada), delusion (moha), and envy (matsarya)—all of which hinder human development.
The mind often struggles with anticipation, and the influence of six vices can weaken it, potentially leading to mental illnesses such as dementia and Alzheimer’s later in life. As we know, the human mind is the source of all that is good or bad, and to engage in meaningful practices or perform good deeds, we need a healthy mind. A weak mind can lead to various physical and mental ailments. Therefore, to unlock the mind’s full potential and protect ourselves from these issues, we must actively practice Gnana Sadhana.
So, dear member friends, the toughest of Thrayee Sadhaana is Gnana Sadhana, and we must take an oath in this new year to practice Thrayee Sadhana ardently and lead a blissful life. Thanking you,
Spiritually yours,
